PREP FOOTBALL / ARROWHEAD LEAGUE : Anza Hamilton Pounds Southern California Christian

A strong rushing attack led by Nick Rueda and Jesse Cable paced Anza Hamilton to a 42-19 victory over Southern California Christian on Saturday.

Rueda rushed for 106 yards in 12 carries and scored two touchdowns. Cable gained 73 yards in 14 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Hamilton improved to 5-3, 3-0 in league. SCC fell to 1-4, 2-2.

Hamilton quarterback Nathan Mulligan scored on a one-yard run early in the first quarter as the Bobcats grabbed a 6-0 lead.

Mulligan connected with Stephen Dewese for a 27-yard touchdown play late in the quarter as Hamilton led, 12-0.

SCC’s Jeremy Smith scored on a four-yard run with 10:15 left in the second quarter to make it 12-7.

However, Rueda scored his two touchdowns, a 12-yard run and an eight-yard run, and Cable added a five-yard touchdown run to give Hamilton a 35-7 halftime lead.

Smith scored his second touchdown, a two-yard run, late in the third quarter to make it 35-13.

Cable ended Hamilton’s scoring on a four-yard run with 9:14 left to play.

Southern California’s David Enda scored on a 60-yard touchdown run with 4:30 left to play.
