In her first year at Cerritos Valley Christian, Monique Toney, a junior guard, is averaging 14 points, five assists and six steals for the undefeated Crusaders. Toney, who transferred from Anaheim Esperanza, has a 4.0 grade-point average. She scored 13 points in a victory over La Serna in Valley Christian’s tournament championship game last week.
