PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : Warren Wants to Be a Player Again

Frank Warren, who spent 13 years as a defensive lineman with the New Orleans Saints before joining the coaching staff last season, has resigned to try to get back on the playing field.
Warren, 36, was told the Saints have no plans to sign him at present. He is third on the team’s all-time list with 189 games and 57 sacks.
Coach Jim Mora announced Warren’s resignation Tuesday. Steve Trimble, 37, another defensive assistant, also resigned.
