Cal Lutheran Warms Up for SCIAC Showdown, 90-67

Brian Capella scored 18 points as Cal Lutheran beat Redlands, 90-67, in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Redlands.

The Kingsmen (14-4, 6-1 in SCIAC play) won their sixth consecutive game and set up a showdown with Claremont-Mudd (12-6, 6-1) on Saturday night.

WOMEN

Cal State Northridge 81, Cal State Los Angeles 61--Carrie Dormire scored 22 points for the Matadors (4-16) at Northridge.

Ventura 81, Hancock 67--K.K. Johns scored 19 points for the Pirates (25-0, 11-0) in a Western State Conference North Division game at Hancock.

Cuesta 89, Moorpark 85--Corey Phillips had 23 points in a double-overtime loss for the Raiders (9-13, 1-4) in a WSC North game.

Santa Barbara 56, Oxnard 52--Naikima Ireland and Mickie Liufau each had 14 points for Oxnard (16-9, 1-3) in a WSC North game.

Canyons 90, Glendale 66--Maxine Unverferth had 25 points and 17 rebounds for the Cougars (16-10, 4-1) in a WSC South game at Glendale (5-16, 2-3).
