Hart Still Pacemaker in the Foothill, 54-48

Hart High closed in on its eighth Foothill League championship in nine seasons with a 54-48 victory over Burroughs Wednesday night at Valencia High.

Candice Boller had 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Indians (16-7, 7-0 in league play), who have a two-game lead over Saugus with three games left.

Burroughs (13-9, 4-3), which expected to challenge Hart for the title before a rash of injuries, got 21 points from guard Joyce Lau.

Amanda Hoaglund added 15 points for Hart.

Chatsworth 67, Cleveland 33--Jodi Borenstein scored 18 points and Nancy Vincent added 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Chancellors (15-6, 6-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

Reseda 67, Canoga Park 24--Lashanda Holland had 32 points and 11 rebounds for the Regents (5-8, 3-4), and Latisha Green added 11 points in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Grant 59, Poly 52--The Lancers won in overtime after trailing, 21-6, after one quarter of a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Vahaneh Maani, who had 18 points, made a free throw to force overtime and had five points in the extra period for Grant (11-5, 5-2).

North Hollywood 62, Van Nuys 38--Samantha Fargeon had 26 points and 11 rebounds for North Hollywood (15-3, 7-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game against the Wolves (8-7, 5-2).

Lincoln 56, Verdugo Hills 43--Michelle Escobar had 13 points for the Tigers in a Northern Conference game against Verdugo Hills (3-14, 1-10).

The Dons’ Christine Baird had 13 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals.

El Camino Real 48, Kennedy 44--Tami Jones had 19 points and 12 rebounds and made eight free throws in the fourth quarter for the Conquistadores (9-3, 5-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

Coyles Scarbrough scored 19 points for Kennedy (10-10, 4-3).

Taft 63, Granada Hills 31--Nyoki McKeith had 18 points and had 10 steals for the Toreadors (16-0, 7-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
