Anderson has been on the Aztec varsity for three seasons and a starter since she was a junior. She was named first-team All-Sunset League last season.

Other oral commitments:

* Michelle Sarkees, a setter for Santa Margarita High, plans to sign a letter of intent today with San Jose State, Eagle Athletic Director Richard Schaaf said. Sarkees was a first-team All-Sea View League selection after leading Santa Margarita to the league co-championship and the first round of the Southern Section Division I playoffs.

* Andy Bailey, a driver from San Clemente, will play water polo at UCLA, Triton Co-Athletic Director Jon Hamro said. Bailey was an All-South Coast League and All-Southern Section selection.

* Andrea Sievers, a defender for Los Alamitos, will play soccer for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Griffin Coach Rich Manning said. Sievers was a first-team all Sunset League selection last season, when she led Los Alamitos to the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division I tournament.

Today is national letter of intent signing day. It’s the first day seniors planning to play football, soccer, girls’ volleyball, water polo or field hockey in college can sign with a school. The signing period continues through April 1.
