Bennette Up to Minute for Alemany

Francine Bennette sank two free throws and grabbed four rebounds in the final minute Saturday night to secure Alemany High’s 56-49 over Dominguez in a second-round Southern Section Division II-A playoff game at Dominguez.
Carly Funicello had 22 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocked shots for the Indians (20-7) and Kelli Kobayashi added 11 points and seven assists. Bennette scored 10 points.
DIVISION I-AA
Quartz Hill 71, Arroyo Grande 48--Amanda Chelette scored 26 points and sank a school-record eight three-point shots as the Rebels (16-6) routed the Eagles (11-11) at Quartz Hill.
Rebecca Welch had 12 points and 18 rebounds while Sanethia Thomas scored 15 points for Quartz Hill.
Palmdale 53, Lakewood 26--Kristi Rose had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Margie Knott added six points and 16 rebounds for the Falcons (25-2) in a game at Palmdale.
Ericka Burton had 11 points for the Lancers (13-11).
DIVISION I-A
Crescenta Valley 74, Corona 46--Amirah Leonard had 35 points, including seven three-point baskets, for the Falcons (27-1) in a second-round rout of Corona (17-10).
Thousand Oaks 43, Hart 33--Center Jenn Detmer paced the Lancers (24-4) with 13 points in a second-round game against Hart at Valencia.
Nicole LaSala added 12 points.
Candace Boller and Jaclyn Kuptz each scored eight points for Hart (21-8).
Buena 50, Capistrano Valley 36--Nicole Greathouse had 12 points and 18 rebounds as the Bulldogs overcame a slow start in the second-round game.
Renae Hofmann added 14 points for Buena (25-1), which trailed after the first quarter, 11-9, but outscored Capistrano Valley in the second quarter, 22-8.
Mater Dei 67, Oxnard 52--Ronnie Gondringer scored 19 points and Lori Hurlbut added 18 for the Monarchs, who built a 42-24 halftime lead in the second-round game at Mater Dei.
Jalline Bradley scored 20 points and had six assists for the Yellowjackets (18-8).
DIVISION II-A
Ocean View 78, Westlake 31--Megan Carmola scored 21 points for the Warriors (13-14), who were routed by the host Seahawks (20-9) in a second-round game.
DIVISION III-AA
San Luis Obispo 70, Calabasas 35--Cara Blumfield scored 15 points for the Coyotes (13-9), who were outscored in the second and third quarters by a combined 38-8.
Yolanda White scored 24 for San Luis Obispo (22-3).
Moorpark 82, Gladstone 32--Tina Milburn scored 13 points and her sister Tracey Milburn had eight points and 12 assists as the Musketeers (23-0) swamped the Gladiators (6-13) at Moorpark.
DIVISION III-A
San Marino 69, Harvard-Westlake 50--Omelogo Udeze had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines in the loss at San Marino.
Notre Dame 62, South Hills 42--Ashly Ritter collected 27 points for the host Knights (18-7).
Stephanie Eden added 14 points.
Arnika Hughes had 18 points for South Hills.
Notre Dame trailed by four at the end of the third quarter, 33-29, but outscored South Hills, 35-9, in the fourth quarter.
Nordhoff 62, Costa Mesa 51--Nell Becker scored 24 points and had six assists for the Rangers (18-8) at Nordhoff.
The Rangers converted eight of nine free throws in the final two minutes.
DIVISION IV-AA
Paraclete 58, Beaumont 42--Monica Flores had 26 points and Kim Whisler added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Spirits (18-5).
Leia Clark scored 17 points for Beaumont.
Paraclete led, 28-27, at halftime and pulled away in the second half, holding Beaumont to two points in the final quarter.
Louisville 51, Ramona Convent 23--Becky Witt, who hit three three-pointers, had 14 points and five assists for the Royals (17-7) in a game at Ramona Convent.
Adrian Bilek had six points and 10 rebounds, and Kari Crawley added 11 points and eight steals for the Royals.
Fillmore 72, La Salle 41--Julie Arundell scored 22 points, and Christie Rosenblad added 19 points and 13 assists at Fillmore.
April Kozar had 18 points and 19 rebounds for the Flashes (22-3).
DIVISION IV-A
Village Christian 87, Alverno 17--Freshman guard Shannon Speilbueler made five of seven three-point shots and scored 23 points for the Crusaders (17-7) at Village Christian.
Lindy James had 17 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders, who built a 45-6 halftime lead.
Brethren Christian 54, Providence 29--Rachel MacDonald had 13 points and Melissa McDaniel added 12 for the Warriors (17-8).
Bell-Jeff 67, St. Genevieve 35--Felicia Flores had 18 points for the Guards (21-5) at Bell-Jeff.
Veronica Cobb added nine points and 11 rebounds.
DIVISION V-A
Cornerstone Christian 60, Cuyama Valley 24--Karen Breshears had 20 points and 15 rebounds for the Eagles (18-1).
