A Preliminary Meet to Master

The final hurdle before next week’s State wrestling finals awaits 35 regional competitors entered in the Southern Section Masters Meet at Fountain Valley High.

Top competitors from the Channel, Marmonte, Mission, Golden and Frontier leagues will be among 280 entries in a tournament combining top placers from last week’s Southern Section Division I, II, III and IV finals. The top eight placers in each of 14 weight classes will advance to the State meet at University of the Pacific’s Spanos Center on Friday and Saturday.
