PREP BOYS’ BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Van Nuys Montclair Prep 78, Carpinteria Cate 64--Senior forward Anwawn Jones scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Mounties (26-3) in the Southern Section V-AA final at the Bren Center.
Akil Anderson and Scott Stark added 18 and 14 points, respectively, for Montclair Prep, which extended a two-point halftime lead to 61-45 at the end of the third quarter.
Olu Evans scored 19 points for third-seeded Cate (19-4), which was making its first title-game appearance.
