Fullerton Rallies to Beat Rancho Santiago
Fullerton scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie and went on to a 4-3 victory in 12 innings over Rancho Santiago in Orange Empire Conference women’s softball Wednesday at Fullerton.
Becky Joosten singled in two runs in the seventh before Kristy Osborn tied it with a two-out single.
The Hornets (14-2, 4-0) scored the winning run after Deborah Hargrave singled, was sacrificed to second and scored on Kristie Bravo’s two-out double.
In other conference softball:
Cypress 7, Riverside 2--Sophia Garcia singled and doubled and drove in three runs for Cypress (13-6, 3-0), which trailed, 2-0, after three innings.
Golden West 11, Orange Coast (6, mercy)--Jennifer Robins hit a bases-loaded triple to highlight a five-run second inning for visiting Golden West (5-2, 2-1).
Saddleback 5, Irvine Valley 0 (8)--Stacy Henderson had two hits, including a two-run single in the top of the eighth, for visiting Saddleback (10-2, 3-0), which scored five runs in the top of the eighth.
In Orange Empire Conference baseball:
Golden West 3, Riverside 2--Josh La Rocca pitched a one-hitter, striking out seven and allowing no earned runs. La Rocca allowed only a bloop single in the third and worked out of a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the ninth. Riley Breckenridge hit a two-run single in the first for Golden West (7-7, 1-3). Riverside is 10-6, 1-4.
In Orange Empire Conference men’s volleyball:
Orange Coast 3, Santa Barbara 0--Phil Schildts had 12 kills for visiting Orange Coast, which won, 15-8, 15-4, 15-9.
