Woodland Hills : Multiplex Plans Oscar Night Fund-Raiser

The new 16-screen AMC Theatres will host an Academy Award fund-raiser for the American Red Cross on Monday.

The 68th Academy Awards ceremonies will be shown live on wide-screen televisions in the lobby of the AMC Promenade 16 Theatres, which plans a grand opening March 29.

The event, which costs $25 including dinner, will run from 5 to 11 p.m.

During a celebrity art auction, guests will be able to bid on works by Whoopi Goldberg, Barbra Streisand, Cary Grant, Jay Leno, Roseanne Arnold, Gregory Peck and Michael Eisner, among others.

Following the awards, there will be special screenings of the five movies nominated for best picture: “Babe,” “Braveheart,” Apollo 13,” “Il Postino (The Postman”) and “Sense and Sensibility.”

The theater is located in the Promenade at Woodland Hills, 21801 Oxnard St.
