Northridge Batters Sacramento

Shortstop Adam Kennedy of Cal State Northridge led off a Western Athletic Conference game against Cal State Sacramento with a home run, setting off a 14-hit attack Friday as the Matadors defeated the Hornets, 13-4, at Hornet Field.
Grant Hohman added a three-run homer for the Matadors (26-6, 9-2) in the first inning. Kennedy finished with three hits and three runs scored. Ryan Hurd added a solo home run in the eighth.
SOFTBALL
Cal Lutheran 10-5, Occidental 0-0--Kathy Proffitt pitched a one-hitter in the first game and Heidi Stevens was even better, throwing a no-hitter in the second as the Regals swept a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Occidental College.
Stevens (8-0), a senior, struck out six and walked none. Proffitt, a freshman, is 5-0.
Cal Lutheran (17-0, 14-0) set a school record for consecutive victories.
The only Occidental runner against Stevens was Tamar Hill, who reached on an error in the fifth inning. Hill, however, was thrown out attempting to steal second.
