Bolsa Grande 14, Orange Lutheran 7--Gus DeLeon had a grand slam in the first inning and Alex Navarro had three of the Matadors’ seven doubles in the consolation semifinal.

In the Dole Big West Invitational:

El Toro 7, Woodbridge 3--Darrin MacLeod relieved Brett Vessells and recorded a strikeout with two outs in the seventh and the bases loaded to help eighth-ranked El Toro advance to the championship game where it will face Irvine, which beat Los Alamitos, 4-3.

In the consolation semifinal game:

Capistrano Valley 4, Ocean View 3--Andy Tuzzolino and Todd Miller both were two for three for Capistrano Valley in the consolation semifinal game. Reliever Tommy Grotsky picked up his second save pitching a no-hitter in the fifth and sixth innings and striking out five.

In the Dole National Classic:

Mountain View St. Francis 4, El Dorado 3--St. Francis’ Jason Luker broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI single in the sixth at El Dorado to send the Lancers into the semifinals. Second baseman Mike Castillo had two RBIs for the Golden Hawks.

In the Maui tournament:

Calvary Chapel 4, Maui 1--Dallas Kruse was three for four with two runs scored and one RBI as Calvary Chapel (11-4) won the championship game.

In Century League softball:

Canyon 3, Villa Park 0--Veronica Lopez pitched a four-hit shutout for Canyon (13-7, 1-0). Lopez also had three hits and two RBIs.

In Garden Grove League softball:

Bolsa Grande 2, Pacifica 1--Bolsa Grande (10-6, 4-0 in Garden Grove League) upset third-ranked Pacifica (15-2, 4-1) in dueling two-hitters. Sophomore Amanda Freed (7-1) lost for the first time after 21 consecutive victories to begin her career. Winning pitcher Mary Petrie (10-4) scored from first base on a throwing error, and Erica De Los Santos followed with an RBI to score Jill Tantardini with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the Santa Maria Righetti Best of the West softball tournament:

Fresno Bullard 2, Foothill 0--Bullard (20-0), ranked No. 1 in the state, had a single, bunt, single and two-run double on the first four pitches of the sixth inning to win. Foothill (16-2), ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 1 in Orange County, had three hits against Courtney Dale. Two were leadoff singles, by Amie Barnes and Robin Tessman, but the Knights couldn’t get them beyond second base.

In Empire League girls’ track:

Kennedy 70, Cypress 56--The Fighting Irish won their first league meet in three years. Staci Holliday won the shotput (34-1 1/4) and discus (90-7) for Kennedy.
