Richardson, Glaister Pitch Northridge to Sweep

Cal State Northridge swept Southern Utah in a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader Friday at Northridge, winning by 6-1 and 6-2 scores.

In the opener, Jen Richardson (19-5) pitched a six-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk.

Richardson, Scia Maumausolo and Traci Gallian each had two hits for Northridge (42-12, 18-8 in conference play).

In the second game, Tara Glaister (17-6) threw a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk. Jennifer Parker had two runs batted in.

GIRLS

Rio Mesa 3, Buena 0--Carol Saldana had two hits for the Spartans in a Channel League game. Rio Mesa (14-4, 8-2) remained a game behind first-place San Marcos.

Rio Mesa’s Marcella Ramirez pitched a six-hitter, striking out four and walking one.

Robyn Peet had two hits for Buena (11-8, 6-4).

Thousand Oaks 9, Agoura 0--Justine Rachlin had four hits in a Marmonte League game at Agoura. Kristin Combe had three RBIs and Jamie Dunn added two for the Lancers (15-5, 6-4).

Alemany 7, Harvard-Westlake 3--Annette Ramirez had a double and triple to lead an 11-hit attack for the Indians (12-4, 3-1) in a Mission League victory over the Wolverines (8-4, 1-3) at Alemany.

Chaminade 8, Flintridge Sacred Heart 0--Maureen LeCocq pitched a two-hitter, striking out 11 and walking one, and had three hits and two RBIs for the Eagles (10-10, 4-2) in a Mission League game at Chaminade.

Moorpark 7, Santa Paula 0--Tracey Milburn led off with a home run for the second consecutive game and T.C. Plante had a bases-loaded triple as the host Musketeers (11-7, 10-1) routed the Cardinals (6-12, 5-6) in a Frontier League game.
