Garth Flint, who coached Corona del Mar girls’ basketball since 1989, when his daughter was a freshman on the varsity team, will take a one-year sabbatical to watch her final year of college basketball.

Flint decided to watch every game he can next season that is played by his daughter, Mollie, who will be a senior at St. Mary’s in Moraga.

“I just need to watch Mollie play,” Flint said. “I intend to watch as many games as I can--I’m making up for the last three years.”

Flint said he expects to travel to watch the team as well, including games in Montana and a tournament in Florida. He said he will still be involved with Corona del Mar’s team administratively. Corona del Mar was 81-113 under Flint’s direction, including 17-10 last season.
