* KIYUN KIM
Crescenta Valley, Sophomore
100 freestyle
Finished in a tie for third place in the Southern Section Division II final. Best swimmer on an improving Falcon team.
* LIAH KIM
Buena, Junior
100 butterfly
Won a Division I title in the 100 butterfly and also placed second in the 200 individual medley as Buena won its third consecutive section title.
* REBECCA MADDOCKS
Quartz Hill, Sophomore
50 freestyle
Had fastest time in the 50 of any swimmer from the region in a section final, placing seventh in Division II with a time of 25.56.
* MONICA OLEKSYN
Hart, Junior
100 breaststroke
Breaststroke specialist reclaimed the Division II title she lost in 1995. Her time of 1:06.99 won by nearly a second.
* JENNIFER PARMENTER
L.A. Baptist, Freshman
200 individual medley, 100 backstroke
Won two Division I titles for the Knights, who don’t even have a swimming team. Narrowly missed a berth on U.S. Olympic team.
* ALEXIS SOWA
Thousand Oaks, Sophomore
diving
Didn’t compete because of an injury last season but came back to win the Marmonte League title and finish fifth in the Division I finals.
SECOND TEAM
* JENNIFER ABBEY
La Canada, Junior
200 individual medley
Runner-up in Southern Section Division III final with a time of 2:05.65.
* NICOLE BECK
Buena, Sophomore
100 butterfly, 100 backstroke
Won two Division I titles in 1995, had two second-place finishes this season.
* HEATHER BOYLAN
Saugus, Sophomore
200 freestyle
Won 200 freestyle in Division II finals with second-fastest time in the region. Also finished first in 100 backstroke.
* EMILY DASHIELL
Harvard-Westlake, Senior
100 freestyle
Posted second-fastest time in region and was a member of Wolverines’ relay team that set Division III record.
* JANEA JACKSON
Harvard-Westlake, Junior
50 freestyle
Won Division III consolation title in 50 freestyle.
* MEGHAN NEWLIN
Crescenta Valley, Senior
diving
Finished third in Division II finals with 441.30 points.
* ERIN SCHATZ
Buena, Senior
500 freestyle
Schatz, who has signed with Clemson, finished second behind Gilman in 500.
