Titan Basketball Program Losing Reserve Guard

FULLERTON — Brian Thomas, a reserve guard for the Cal State Fullerton basketball team last season as a junior, won’t be back with the Titans this season.
Athletic department spokesman Mel Franks said Wednesday Thomas failed to meet university academic requirements last spring and did not qualify to enroll this fall.
Thomas averaged eight points and 2.9 rebounds last season after transferring from Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas. He missed 11 games from mid-December through mid-January because of a stress fracture in his foot, an injury that had forced him to miss most of the preseason workouts.
Thomas made a three-point shot at the buzzer to give Fullerton a two-point overtime victory over San Diego State Dec. 5. He also had a season-high 18 points against Pacific late in the season.
