In other Northwest Valley Conference games:

Taft 49, Granada Hills 6--Quarterback Nick DiPadova completed 20 of 30 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns with one interception to lead the Toreadors (5-0, 2-0), the Times’ No. 2-ranked team, at Taft.

DiPadova, who was not pulled until Taft’s final series, also rushed for touchdowns of 11 and two yards.

Tight end Alex Scheer caught two touchdown passes covering two and 36 yards. Wide receiver Keith Johnson scored on a 20-yard reception. Johnson caught five passes for 116 yards, and wide receiver Damon Coleman had six receptions for 95 yards.

Running back Sedric Hurns rushed for for 103 yards in 13 carries and scored on runs of one and four yards.

The Toreadors amassed 500 yards total offense, scoring on their first four possessions.

The Taft defense sacked Highlander quarterbacks eight times for 52 yards in losses.

Granada Hills (1-4, 0-2) scored its only touchdown on a 74-yard pass play from Ricky Mathiesen to tight end Leon Pimky in the second quarter. Mathiesen completed seven of 12 passes for 114 yards, but left the game with an injured finger in the fourth quarter.

Pimky caught three passes for 103 yards.
