This is the first time in several years that these two have opened Olympic League play and Orange Lutheran Coach Jim Kunau calls that a shame. “The last three times we have played each other it has been for a league or CIF title,” Kunau said. “The stakes are just too high for both teams. It’s too bad the league had this rotation in scheduling.” Both teams are coming off losses, but it should be a barn-burner anyway. Orange Lutheran beat Valley Christian and won the league title in 1994; Valley turned the tables twice last season, winning the league title and then the Division X championship game.
