In a rush: Junior tailback Miguel Fletcher, a bright spot for winless Alemany, last week topped the 1,000-yard mark in his first varsity season.
Fletcher, projected to be a top college recruit next season, has rushed for 1,034 yards and five touchdowns for Alemany (0-9), which closes out the season Friday night against Crespi at Pierce College.
Shortfall: Birmingham High’s Emmanuel Evans had a streak of nine consecutive 100-yard rushing games snapped in last week’s 41-6 loss to Taft. Evans was held to 66 yards in 20 carries.
Ground cover: L.A. Lutheran’s Eric Tisdale piled up 255 all-purpose yards Saturday as the Lions (7-1, 4-0) clinched their first Heritage League title since joining the circuit in 1985 with a victory over Viewpoint.
Tisdale caught four passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns and returned the opening kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown.
