Bell-Jeff 30, Daniel Murphy 20--David Montes had 198 yards and two touchdowns in 31 carries for the Guards (2-8, 2-4) and finished the season with 1,002 yards.

After spotting the Nobles (2-8, 2-4) a 12-0 lead in the second quarter, the Guards scored on Montes’ one-yard run with 7 minutes 42 seconds left in the first half.

Five minutes later, Montes gave Bell-Jeff the lead for good, 16-12, on a two-yard run.

Montes also threw for a touchdown when he connected with his brother, Daniel, on a 26-yard scoring play.

“He is an outstanding and dedicated player,” Bell-Jeff Coach Ken Berry said of David Montes. “Actually our offense has been effective all year, but our defense really stepped it up today. Especially [linebacker] Dominique Domingo.”

Domingo had four sacks.

Francis St. Paul of Murphy rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns in 17 carries and caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.
