Long Beach Poly 9-3 vs. Mater Dei 12-0
7:30 P.M. FRIDAY
SANTA ANA STADIUM
Mater Dei is a victory from reaching its second Division I title game in three years, but Long Beach Poly is a formidable roadblock. Los Alamitos and Bellflower St. John Bosco have already been burned by the Jackrabbits’ speed, in particular the dangerous Ken-yon Rambo, who has set a single-season school record for reception yardage. Chris Lewis also has established Poly single-season records for touchdowns and passing yardage. The Monarchs, led by Rod Perry Jr., Nick Stremick and Mike McNair, have more size as well as the most balanced offense Poly has faced.
