In consolation games:

Santa Margarita 8, Irvine 6 (5, time limit)--Katie Fenelli and Karlie Reiss each hit two-run home runs for the Eagles (10-4-1), who defeated the Vaqueros for the second time this season. Santa Margarita, which is ranked seventh in the county, had six players with one hit each.

Huntington Beach 6, La Habra 5 (6, time)--Danielle Armendariz had a triple, a home run and three RBIs for Huntington Beach (6-8).

In a Canyon tournament quarterfinal game:

Sonora 7, Whittier Christian 0--Georgeann Wisen brought a no-hitter into the seventh inning but allowed back to back singles with one to lose the no-hitter but retired the next two batters to complete the shut out for Sonora (13-4) in a quarterfinal game. Sonora will play Corona in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. today at Peralta Park.

In the Gladstone baseball tournament:

Troy 14, Azusa 2 (6, time limit)--Reggie Dominguez had three hits, scored three runs, had three RBIs and stole two bases in leading Troy (4-9) to the victory. Brant Elliott added two hits and a pair of RBIs for the Warriors, who face the play Claremont-Hawthorne winner today.

In nonleague baseball:

Fullerton 8-8, Brea Olinda 7-7--Jonathan Pate had the game winning hit in both games as he went five-for-six in the two games for Fullerton (8-6). In the first game, Pate had a two run home run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 6-6 tie. In the second game, Pate had an RBI single to left in the bottom of the sixth to bring in the winning run.

In Pacific Coast League boys’ golf:

University 190, Aliso Niguel 202--Joseph Chang shot par 36 to lead University (7-0, 2-0). Mike Kendall led Aliso Niguel (8-2, 2-0) with par 36.
