UC Irvine Gets a Commitment From Edmonds

Malachi Edmonds from Long Beach Poly has orally committed to play basketball at UC Irvine, Poly Coach Ron Palmer said Tuesday.
Edmonds, a 6-foot-2 point guard, averaged 14 points and five assists last season. He will sign the letter of intent as soon as the NCAA Academic Clearinghouse confirms his eligibility.
“Malachi has met all the requirements,” Palmer said. “He’s just waiting on the paperwork.”
Edmonds, who also played shooting guard, is the third recruit for Irvine this spring. He joins Matt Willard, a 6-9 forward from Butte College, and Ben Jones, a 6-7 forward from Sonora High.
