Finals Set in Baseball, Softball

The Southern Section baseball finals are scheduled for Friday at Blair Field in Long Beach and Saturday at Anaheim Stadium. The softball finals are Friday and Saturday at Lakewood Mayfair Park.

Friday’s doubleheader at Blair Field begins with Hesperia Christian meeting Colton Christian Center Academy for the Division VI championship at 4:30 p.m. Brethren Christian plays Santa Maria St. Joseph for the Division V title at 7:30.

On Saturday, Anaheim Stadium will be the site of four baseball title games. The Division I championship game will be decided at 7:30 p.m., when Esperanza plays Long Beach Millikan. The games begin at 10 a.m. with the Division IV title game between West Covina South Hills and San Luis Obispo. Canyon plays Artesia for the Division III title at 1 p.m., and La Mirada meets La Verne Damien for the Division II title at 4:30 p.m.

In softball, Calvary Chapel plays Lancaster Paraclete in the Division V championship game, which was moved from Saturday to Friday at 5 p.m. That game is followed by the Division II title matchup between Woodbridge and Santa Maria Righetti at 7:30.

There are four games scheduled for Saturday at Mayfair Park, highlighted by the Division I championship game between Foothill and Upland, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The day’s first game is for the Division VI title, with Temecula Linfield and Boron meeting at 10:30 a.m. Santa Fe Springs St. Paul plays West Covina South Hills for the Division IV title at 1:30 p.m., and Pacifica meets Glendora St. Lucy’s for the Division III title at 4:30 p.m.
