DeMatha Handles Los Alamitos

ANAHEIM — Los Alamitos fell behind early in its season opener and lost, 67-59, to Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha at the Wooden High School Invitational Thursday night at the Pond.
The Stags (2-0), who played Tuesday night on the East Coast and flew all day Wednesday to get here, raced to a 26-10 lead. They made 15 of 28 field-goal attempts overall in the first half and were led by guard Joe Forte, who scored 16 points in the first two quarters.
The Griffins made only 11 of 31 field-goal attempts in the first half (three of 11 from three-point range).
Matt Komer, who had 12 first-half points, finished with 22 for Los Alamitos.
