St. Monica played its best defensive game of the season in its second-round 21-3 victory over Calabasas, which beat the Mariners, 48-28, this season. Receiver James Dunn is considered one of the best in Division VIII. Orange Lutheran advances to its fourth consecutive semifinal. The Lancers went 4-0-1 against public school opponents, but several key players missed Olympic League games with injuries. Running back Dee Meza scored three times and gained 212 yards in the second-round 35-6 victory over Santa Barbara Bishop Diego. An injured hand sidelined him five weeks.
