Marcus McGowan’s seventh-inning home run broke a tie and gave the Bend Bandits a 7-6 victory over the Vigilantes in front of an announced crowd of 1,004 Friday night at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend, Ore.

McGowan, playing in place of injured starter Ryan Brennan, also had two hits as the Bandits (4-1 in the second half of the season) won for the seventh time in their last nine games. The Vigilantes dropped to 2-3 in the Southern Division in the Western Baseball League.

Cory Parker led the Vigilantes in offense, hitting a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

Former Brea Olinda High standout John Lynn earned his first save of the season by retiring three consecutive Vigilante batters in the ninth inning after giving up a leadoff double to Bret Barberie.
