The running game also worked well for Foothill.

Sophomore Skyler Champion led the Knights’ rushing attack with 137 yards in 14 carries and two touchdowns.

Lafayette Henderson, playing only his fourth game of the season for the Knights, rushed 10 times for 58 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Foothill’s defense set up two scores.

Tim Hjorth intercepted a Josh Chelini pass and returned it to the Canyon nine. Two plays later, Henderson scored from the three.

On Canyon’s next possession, Chelini fumbled the snap and Foothill’s Henry Escarzaga recovered it at the Comanche 13. Two plays later, Champion scored for a 28-0 lead.

Canyon (0-9, 0-4) showed signs of life in this game. The team had scored only 32 points all year, but had a season-high point total against the Knights.

Jermaine Montgomery ran for one touchdown and scored on a 66-yard pass reception.
