NONCONFERENCE

* CAL STATE FULLERTON at No. 16 UTAH

Time--6:30 PST.

The last time Cal State Fullerton played basketball at Utah, the Titans were beaten, 108-58, two years ago. It was Fullerton’s worst Division I loss. Fullerton will be back at Utah for its opener tonight. Coach Bob Hawking’s team has more experience and depth than in any of the previous three seasons. Guards Chris Dade and Chris St. Clair are fifth-year seniors. Sophomore Ike Harmon, who sat out last year as a Proposition 48 nonqualifier, is the key newcomer. Harmon scored 38 points in Fullerton’s two exhibition victories. Utah, ranked 16th, has three starters back from last season’s team that won the Western Athletic Conference title and finished 29-4, losing in the NCAA West Regional title game. The key player for the Utes is 6-foot-11 center Michael Doleac. Utah has won four consecutive games against Fullerton, and the Titans have not won in Salt Lake City since 1988.
