* THE PROVEN: Phil Spataru and Peter Hudnut of Harvard-Westlake and David Radka of Royal earned high school All-American honors last season. Goalies Brian Hasbrouck of Crescenta Valley, Russell Bernstein of La Canada, Garrett Herzer of Royal and Brendan Connolly of Harvard-Westlake make up the strongest goalie foursome in the area in recent memory. Agoura’s Mitch Dexter had 58 goals last season, second on the team. Loran Leidenger (6-6, 200) and Brian Carsten (6-6, 185) of Burroughs are returning All-Almont League selections. Brendan Naeve of La Canada was an All-Southern Section Division III selection despite missing 10 games with a rib injury.

* THE PROMISING: La Canada junior Michael McDay was second-team All-Division III as a sophomore. Royal junior Ryan Apperson has impressed Coach Steve Snyder all summer. Elliot Hirsch of Agoura swims the 100 meters in under 50 seconds. Crescenta Valley’s Carlos Pelayo led the junior varsity in scoring last season.

* FAST FACT: Crescenta Valley has a 32-game winning streak in Pacific League play and has won five consecutive league titles.
