Quincy Wright

SCHOOL: El Camino Real

YEAR: Senior

SEASON AT A GLANCE: A three-year starter, the 5-foot-9, 170 pound Wright has established himself as one of the premier running backs in the City Section. Wright gained 1,306 yards and scored 20 touchdowns last year after breaking the 1,000-yard barrier as a sophomore. The Wright-led Conquistadores are expected to battle Taft for the Northwest Valley Conference championship.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: In a 51-0 victory over North Hollywood, Wright gained 228 yards and scored four touchdowns in 14 carries. Doing most his his damage in the first half, he scored on runs of 80, 36, 49 and 34 yards. First-year Coach Rick Hayashida made a concerted effort to get Wright the ball. In a one-point loss to the Huskies last year, Wright had just four carries.

Sherisa Livingston

SCHOOL: Royal

YEAR: Junior

SEASON AT AT GLANCE: In the midst of being recruited by several colleges, the 6-foot-1 middle blacker helped the Highlanders to a fast start this season with a five-game upset of Harvard-Westlake. With Livingston in the middle, the Highlanders have a shot at upsetting Westlake in a Marmonte League match Sept. 25.
