Andrews Leads Nordhoff at Lompoc

Shawn Andrews of Nordhoff High shot a five-over-par 77 to pace the Rangers to a fourth-place finish in the Lompoc Invitational at La Purisima Golf Course on Monday.

Tommy Hajduk shot a 78 for Nordhoff and Jeff Coburn had an 80.

The Rangers’ 235 total left them seven shots behind winner Santa Margarita, three behind second-place San Marcos and two behind third-place San Luis Obispo.

Ventura, paced by Zack King’s 76, tied Atascadero for sixth place at 240.

Hart, led by Jeff Siembieda’s 78, placed eighth with 246. Buena and Oxnard tied for ninth place at 248.

Buena’s Dusty Morton and Oxnard’s Robert Eberhardt each shot 79.

Flintridge Prep 219, Brentwood 220--Russell Surber and Andy Brisbois each shot a three-over-par 40 for Flintridge Prep (13-0, 6-0) in a Prep League match at Oakmont Country Club.

Sandy Horacek shot a 39 for Brentwood (4-3, 2-2).

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Pierce 17, Santa Monica 11--Jennifer Del Real drove in four runs with two hits and Tammy Wilhite had three hits and one run batted in for the Brahmas (11-9, 4-3) in a Western State Conference game at Pierce.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

Notre Dame 5, Grove City (Ohio) 3--Patricia Wetzel had two hits, drove in two runs and improved her pitching record to 3-3 with a four-hitter in a nonleague game at Notre Dame (4-5-1).

Wetzel struck out four and walked three.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Harvard-Westlake 16, Crespi 2--Andrew Rosenfeld, Kevin Bezonsky and Andrew Treger of Harvard-Westlake (6-2, 2-0) each won their three singles sets in a Mission League match at Studio City Golf and Tennis.

San Marcos 10, Camarillo 8--Quol Ly and Chris Kunke swept their sets at No. 1 doubles for host Camarillo (4-6) in a nonleague match.

Josh Bratton gave Camarillo its only victory in singles, defeating Pete Schroeter, 7-5.
