A weekly look at the college progress of former Orange County prep athletes.

LEHIGH SOFTBALL

* County connections: Patty Godwin of Mater Dei, Stephanie Rapel of Trabuco Hills High and Jessica Roche of Laguna Beach High.

* Worth noting: Heading into play last week, Lehigh was 14-22. Godwin, a senior pitcher/shortstop from Fountain Valley, led the team with a batting average of .367 with one double and seven runs batted in. She was 6-6 with a 3.35 earned-run average. Godwin has given up 28 earned runs, struck out 37 and walked 15 in 75 1/3 innings. Rapel, a sophomore infielder/outfielder from Mission Viejo, was batting .291 with three doubles, two triples, one home run and 24 RBIs. Roche, a sophomore infielder from Aliso Viejo, was batting .289 with four doubles, one triple and 13 RBIs.

YALE SOFTBALL

* County connections: Annie Sharp of Troy High.

* Worth noting: Sharp, a freshman from Fullerton, has started 24 games, primarily at second base for Yale (20-20). She is batting .243 with nine runs scored, two doubles and 13 RBIs. She has pitched in two games (3 1/3 innings), giving up one earned run and striking out one.

WHITTIER BASEBALL

* County connections: Ean White of Villa Park High and Tony Governale of Sonora High.

* Worth noting: White, a freshman catcher/designated hitter, led the team with a .413 batting average and eight home runs. He has 62 hits, a school-record 21 doubles, 43 RBIs and a .733 slugging percentage. He was selected the team’s MVP and to the NCAA Division III All-West Region team. Governale, a freshman first baseman, led all starters in fielding percentage (.980) and batted .280 with six homers, 29 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .452. Whittier finished 17-22 and 13-8 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Assn. play, good for fourth place.
