Wendy Gabbe has verbally committed to play basketball at UC Irvine, her father, David, said Wednesday.
Gabbe, a 5-foot-11 forward/guard, will be a senior at South Eugene (Ore.) High School this year. She was named first-team All-Midwestern League as a junior last season. She averaged 14 points, five rebounds and four assists.
This summer, Gabbe was named the most valuable player at the BCI tournament in Colorado Springs.
