Hoover 85, Crescenta Valley 70--Zareh Avedian made 12 of 21 field goals and nine of 13 free throws to finish with 33 points and Narbeh Doloukhanian added 25 points to help Hoover win the championship of the Hoover/Burbank tournament.

Avedian also had 22 rebounds and six blocked shots.

Burbank 56, Burroughs 54--Burbank (2-1) switched to a man-to-man defense to outscore their cross-town Foothill League rivals in the fourth quarter of the third-place game at the Burbank-Hoover tournament.

Frank Reed scored nine of his 18 points during the final quarter for Burbank, and Eric Rohwer contributed seven of his 11 points during the same span.

Rohwer had 12 rebounds, finishing with 42 in the three-round tournament.

Burroughs (1-2) was paced by Brian Lee’s 22 points, which included six three-point baskets.

Lee sank four of his three-pointers in the first half.

Thousand Oaks 78, Buena 54--Tim Chevalier made six of the Lancers’ 14 three-point baskets in a 22-point performance to help Thousand Oaks (3-1) to victory in the third-place game of the Loyola Tournament.

Peter Brown scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds for Buena (2-2), which was limited to four three-point baskets.

Channel Islands 70, Hueneme 48--Dwight Sattiewhite scored 25 points and Jay Monette added 20 points for the Raiders (3-0) in a Nordhoff tournament semifinal victory.

L.A. Baptist 76, Vasquez 43--Sophomore Brian Sanders and senior Gabe Frazier combined to make 14 three-point baskets for host L.A. Baptist in a nonleague game.

Sanders, who played primarily at the junior-varsity level last season, made nine of 13 three-point shots and scored 29 points.

Frazier, a returning varsity player, made five of nine three-point shots and scored 25 points for L.A. Baptist (1-1).

The L.A. Baptist school record for three-point baskets in a game is 11, set Frank Vasquez last season.

Taft 71, Culver City 60--Wendell Walden had 21 points, and John Mason had 10 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks for Taft (2-0) in a semifinal of the St. Monica tournament.

Campbell Hall 92, St. Margaret’s 24--Jesse Foster had 26 points and 17 rebounds, and Hassean Basseri had 15 points and eight assists for host Campbell Hall (3-0) in a nonleague game.

GIRLS’

Taft 55, Cleveland 44--Lisa Hawkins scored 16 points and was selected to the all-tournament team as Taft (3-1) finished third in the Eagle Rock tournament.

Trish Bratford had 11 points for Taft. Jessica Cosby, who scored five points, was selected all-tournament for Cleveland.

Crescenta Valley 68, Littlerock 41--Junior forward Sinnamonn Garrett made three three-point baskets and scored 26 points for the host Falcons in a semifinal game of their own tournament.

Crescenta Valley (3-0) will play Alhambra (3-0) in the championship game at 7:45 tonight.

Burroughs 64, South Pasadena 45--Nadyah Roberson scored 14 points and Gracie Coronado had 10 points and 14 rebounds for Burroughs (1-2) in a nonleague game at Burroughs.

Sara Larquier had 10 points for Burroughs.
