Harvard-Westlake Upends Crenshaw

Rolake Bamgobose had 22 points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots for Harvard-Westlake High in a 67-61 victory over defending City Section 4-A champion Crenshaw in a girls’ basketball game Saturday at West Los Angeles College.

La’Tanya Robnett added 13 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots and Omelogo Udeze had eight points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Wolverines (20-5).

Sophomore Erin Stepheson had six points, six assists, five blocked shots and four steals for Harvard-Westlake.

Montclair Prep 62, Highland Hall 30--Laura Power had 18 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists for the Mounties in a Westside League victory at Stonehurst Recreation Center.

Czarina Rinon scored 18 points for the Montclair Prep (10-5, 7-0 in league play).

Notre Dame 43, Flintridge Sacred Heart 41--Sierra Hauser-Price’s layup with under a minute to play gave the Knights a Mission League victory at Flintridge Sacred Heart.

Michelle Barraza of Notre Dame (14-7, 4-4) sank two free throws with 1:15 left to tie the game, 41-41.

Danielle Del Ponte had 18 points for the Tologs (8-11, 2-6).

Cerritos Valley Christian 45, Thousand Oaks 31--Nicole Vasquez had 14 points for the Lancers (15-7) in a nonleague setback at Valley Christian.

Grace Brethren 71, Ribet Academy 63--Crystal Roberts had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Lancers in a Heritage League victory at Cathedral High.

Lisa Estill scored 16 points and Natalie Durso added 14 points and eight rebounds for Grace Brethren (17-2, 7-1).

LeAnne Bennett scored 46 points for Ribet Academy.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Montclair Prep 90, Oak Park 65--Jules Thompson had 24 points and Rocky Steryo had 16 points and nine assists for the Mounties (22-3) in a nonleague victory at Montclair Prep.

John Murphy had 22 points for Oak Park (13-8).

BOYS’ SOCCER

Crespi 3, Chaminade 2--Justin Canel scored on a header with 15 seconds remaining to give the Celts (10-9-2, 6-4) the victory in a Mission League game at Crespi.

Carlos Gill scored twice for Crespi.
