In other Division III first-round games:

El Dorado 6, Aliso Niguel 5 (sudden death)--Tawny Tivenan scored on a four-meter penalty shot with 1 minute 24 seconds remaining in the third sudden-death period to help the Golden Hawks (13-13) advance.

Tivenan scored the second of her three goals to give El Dorado the lead, 5-4, early in the first overtime. But Aliso Niguel’s Sabrina Eisner forced sudden death when she scored her third goal with 1:39 remaining in the first overtime.

Then the teams played two scoreless three-minute sudden-death periods before Tivenan notched the winner in the third.

El Dorado led in the fourth quarter until Sabrina Nougcer scored her third goal with 5:34 remaining to tie it, 4-4, for Aliso Niguel (13-9).

El Dorado will play at Manhattan Beach Mira Costa in the second round Thursday. Mira Costa (15-6) defeated Magnolia (16-8), the Orange League champ, 5-2.

Rosary 25, Santa Fe 5--Julia Wald scored six goals and Colie Barson added five for top-seeded Rosary (20-7), which advanced to play Rancho Cucamonga, a 6-2 winner over San Bernardino.

Rowland Heights Rowland 5, Brea Olinda 3--The Wildcats took a 2-1 lead early in the third quarter on Traci Carreon’s goal, but Rowland scored four consecutive goals to help end Brea Olinda’s season. Jeneacie Ewald had 14 saves for the Wildcats (13-11).

Santa Monica 6, Costa Mesa 1--Annette Grubisich’s goal brought Costa Mesa (11-15) even at the half. But Santa Monica (17-5) held Costa Mesa’s two leading scorers--Cari Howse and Amy Devey--scoreless and pulled away in the second half.

Katella 4, Culver City 3--The Knights (17-6) advanced to Thursday’s second round to play second-seeded University at a site to be determined.
