In other Division II-A games:

El Modena 56, Temescal Canyon 43--Valerie Matweeff scored 22 points and grabbed a season-high 20 rebounds for El Modena (13-9). El Modena plays Glendora St. Lucy’s, a 61-18 winner over Phelan Serrano.

Pacifica 76, Southwest 45--Jaymee Pendergast scored 31 points to lead Pacifica (19-7). Pendergast was complemented by Tracy Downs (14 points, nine rebounds) and Diana Barreras (10 points, seven assists, six steals).

Palm Desert 51, Savanna 28--Aubry Sam scored 21 for Palm Desert (16-9). Savanna finishes the season 8-17.

Valencia 40, Whittier 32--Valencia (13-14) didn’t allow Whittier, the second-seeded team in the region, a field goal in the fourth quarter and overcame a five-point halftime deficit. The Tigers held a 20-7 scoring advantage in the second half. Monika Jackley scored 16 and Heather Hoppe 14 for Valencia, which on Saturday plays Hacienda Heights Wilson, a 51-48 winner over Hemet West Valley.

In Division II-AA:

Whittier California 42, Santiago 29--California led by three before its 14-5 run opening the third quarter. Sandra Jauregui scored eight for Santiago (14-13).

Whittier La Serna 48, Los Amigos 45--Down by three with 15 seconds left, Che Weimer’s three-point attempt fell short for Los Amigos (9-14) and La Serna advanced the first round to play top-seeded Brea Olinda. Carol Tran had 13 points for Los Amigos (9-14).

In Division IV-AA:

Calvary Chapel 81, San Gabriel Mission 34--Calvary Chapel (22-5) scored a season-high 30 points in the first quarter, including Cathy Joens’ 10, and shot 72% (18 of 25) in the first half. Joens scored 20 and had eight assists. Christy Ring scored 15. Calvary Chapel plays Twentynine Palms, a 52-42 winner over Pasadena La Salle.

In Division V-AA:

Capistrano Valley Christian 47, Riverside Christian 25--Melissa Sands and Rebecca Zaino scored 12 apiece for Capistrano Valley Christian, which next plays Chadwick.

In Division V-A wild-card game:

Liberty Christian 35, Los Angeles Pacific Christian 25--Stephanie Wu (four steals) and Crissy Davis (10 rebounds) scored 10 and nine points, respectively, for Liberty Christian (16-6), which plays Big Pine in the first round.
