CITY SECTION GIRLS’ BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS

Palisades 73, North Hollywood 50--Markia Derby and Tashean Thomas of North Hollywood were held to a combined three points in the first half and 15 in the game in a 4-A semifinal at L.A. Southwest College.

Derby finished with six points and Thomas scored nine.

Trailing, 26-14, midway through the second quarter, third-seeded North Hollywood went on an 11-2 run and trailed, 28-25, at halftime.

Claudia Villa had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies (25-3).

Nicole Funn-Lockley had 26 points and 15 rebounds for Palisades (22-5), and Leilani Estevan scored 18 points.

Palisades ended North Hollywood’s season for the second time in three years.
