The El Modena tournament begins today at Santa Ana College. Six of the county’s top 10 teams will be there, including No. 2 El Modena, No. 3 Fountain Valley and No. 4 Irvine. The tournament starts at 11 a.m. today and 10 a.m. on Saturday, with finals scheduled for 3 p.m.

The big showdown to determine the best team in the Southern Section takes place next Wednesday when defending state champion Calvary Chapel takes on Temecula Valley at 7 p.m. at Temecula Valley High.
