Cold Snap Will Lead to Sun Most of Week
Weekend rainfall will give way to cooler weather in Southern California today. High temperatures are expected to dip below 60 degrees throughout the Valley, forecasters say.
Highs will reach 57 in Woodland Hills, 59 in Burbank and 58 in Van Nuys and Chatsworth. Overnight lows will be 40 in Woodland Hills, 41 in Chatsworth and 42 in Burbank and Van Nuys.
“Basically, we have a cold front going through Southern California Sunday, meaning that you have moisture, clouds and showers in the front of it, followed by cooler air,” said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecast information to The Times.
Sherwin said the cold weather will begin to moderate Tuesday, giving way to mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s throughout the Valley. Lows are expected to be in the upper 30s to low 40s.
A high-pressure system will move through Southern California Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, bringing mostly sunny skies for those days, Sherwin said.
High temperatures for Wednesday are expected to be in the low 60s with lows in the low to mid-40s.
On Thursday and Friday, highs are expected in the low to mid-60s, with lows in the low to mid-40s.
