Linebacker Ben Baumer of St. Bonaventure High has committed to Claremont-Mudd.
Baumer, a member of The Times’ All-Ventura County team, helped the Seraphs to the Tri-Valley League championship the past two seasons and the Southern Section Division X title in 1996.
BASKETBALL
Guard Christina Chao of Hart High is out for the season because of shoulder and ankle injuries.
Chao, a senior starter for the Indians (10-2), ranked fourth in the region by The Times, played eight games before being injured.
She will be replaced in the Indian lineup by sophomore Christina Sanchez.
