Hacker, Canyon Beat Brea in Girls’ Soccer


Forward Jamie Hacker scored two second-half goals to lift No. 8 Canyon to a 2-1 victory over Brea Olinda in nonleague girls’ soccer Tuesday.

Hacker, a sophomore, scored in the 45th and 53rd minute. Senior forward Stacie Lopez assisted on both goals. Rachel Hoops scored for visiting Brea Olinda (7-4-1). Canyon is 9-4.

In other nonleague girls’ soccer:

Laguna Hills 2, Fountain Valley 0--Andrea Kosciuk scored in the first half and Brooke Thomas in the second for Laguna Hills (6-3-2).


Troy 2, Kennedy 2--Kennedy’s Lauren Nita tied the score on a free kick. Goalkeeper Jihan Elgazzar had 11 saves for Kennedy (7-3-2). Troy is 3-2-1.

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 1, Brea Olinda 0--Capistrano Valley’s Jackson Petre scored in the 30th minute on a pass from Ruben Garcia.

No. 10 San Clemente 2, Foothill 2--San Clemente took a 2-1 halftime lead, but Steve Adams tied the score for Foothill (8-3-4) early in the second half.
