La Quinta 53, Los Amigos 37--Pat Rains scored 22 points, including four of five shooting from the three-point line, had eight assists and six steals to lead La Quinta. Lacee Keller added 14 points for the Aztecs (5-8, 2-1).

In Century League boys’ soccer:

El Modena 1, Foothill 0--Sergio Contreas scored the lone goal of the match 17 minutes into the second half for El Modena (4-3-5, 1-1). Goalkeeper Nick Adams had four saves for Foothill (8-5-4, 0-2).

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 1, Century 0--Mark Wade had five saves in his 10th shutout of the season for El Dorado (11-5, 2-0). Ryan Valdez scored for the Golden Hawks with five minutes left in the game.

Andres Lopez had six saves for Century (3-9-1, 0-2).

Katella 2, Loara 2 (OT)--John Vargas scored with two minutes left to tie the score for Katella (5-8-3, 0-1-1). Luis Damien scored to give Loara (2-5-3, 1-0-1) a 2-1 lead in the 60th minute.

Kennedy 2, Cypress 1--Kennedy’s David Keleman scored the winner with eight minutes left to play. Randy Dawson also scored a goal for the Fighting Irish (9-4-1, 2-0).

Moises Lourenco had a goal for Cypress (0-2 in league).

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 1, Sunny Hills 0--Bret Weyer scored on a penalty kick midway through the second half for La Habra (4-4-4, 2-0), which played the last 15 minutes with nine players.

In the Garden Grove League:

Pacifica 1, Rancho Alamitos 1--Pacifica’s Brandon Chow tied the score on a penalty kick in the last 10 minutes of the match. The Mariners are 2-2-5, 1-1-1.

In the Golden West League:

No. 9 Santa Ana 1, No. 8 Servite 0--Mario Gonzalez scored on a penalty kick in the 70th minute for Santa Ana (9-3, 2-0). Danny Morales had four saves in the shutout for the Saints.

Ocean View 1, Westminster 0--John Clark scored the winning goal for Ocean View (10-7, 1-1) midway through the first half off an assist from Kurt Nofziger. Westminster is 5-9, 0-2.

In the Sea View League:

No. 4 Woodbridge 0, El Toro 0--Goalkeeper Josh Saunders had 12 saves for El Toro (5-7-1, 1-0-1). The Chargers played a man short for about 60 minutes of the game.

In the South Coast League:

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 4, Dana Hills 2--Jerom Schmidt’s goal 25 minutes into the second half broke a 2-2 tie for Capistrano Valley. Josh Phalen’s goal 10 minutes into the second half gave the Cougars (15-2-2, 1-0-1) a 2-1 lead.

In the Sunset League:

No. 5 Fountain Valley 2, Los Alamitos 1 (OT)--Mario Saenz scored the winner with three minutes left in the second overtime off an assist from Jon Lloyd. Cliff McKinley tied the score for the Barons (11-3-1, 2-0), ranked sixth in Division I, off an assist from Ryan Futagaki in the 65th minute of regulation.

Justin Waldrop gave Los Alamitos (11-3-1, 1-1) the lead in the 60th minute.

Edison 3, No. 6 Esperanza 2--Edison (10-3-2, 1-0-1) built a 3-0 lead behind goals from Jason Clifford, Devin Kato and Mohamed Abdelmuti. Esperanza falls to 10-5-1, 0-2.

In Golden West League girls’ water polo:

No. 3 Rosary 18, Westminster 3--Natalie Golda scored seven goals in the league opener for Rosary (9-1, 1-0). Teammate Julia Wald scored six goals for the Royals.

Saddleback 13, Ocean View 12--Angelica Romeo scored all three goals in the fourth quarter for Saddleback. Maria Tapia had a game-high five goals for the Roadrunners (4-6, 1-0). Kristina Stolzenbury scored four goals for Ocean View.

In the Sea View League:

No. 1 Irvine 10, Corona del Mar 2--Erin Lezak scored four goals to lead Irvine (10-1, 2-0), which led, 7-1, at the half.

No. 6 Newport Harbor 5, Santa Margarita 4--Jocelyn Manderino scored the winning goal with 40 seconds remaining for Newport Harbor (11-3, 2-0).
