Bottoms Up for West Hills Chaminade, 4-3

Jon Higashi had three hits, including a two-out, run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give West Hills Chaminade a 4-3 victory over North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake in a American Legion District 20 baseball game at Chaminade High on Tuesday.

Nate Dunlap of West Hills Chaminade (10-7) had a two-out, two-run double in the seventh to send the game into extra innings with the score tied, 3-3.

Dunlap (4-2) allowed two hits, struck out six and walked one in 3 1/3 innings of relief.

In other District 20 games:

Valley Chatsworth 11, Granada Hills 4--Greg Wallis had two hits and three RBIs for Valley Chatsworth (12-3) at Chatsworth High.

North Hollywood Poly 4, San Fernando 3--Jaime Diaz and Johnny Manuel walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to force in the tying and winning runs at Poly High.

Carlos Reguengo (7-0) pitched his fifth complete game for North Hollywood Poly (12-4).

Van Nuys Birmingham 9, Granada Hills Kennedy 8--Asidro Villarreal drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth at Birmingham High.

Jimmy McGrath was four for five with an RBI for Van Nuys Birmingham (12-6).

Panorama City Monroe 14, Van Nuys 4--Anthony Dimeo was three for three with an RBI and scored twice for Panorama City (8-9) in a game at Alemany High that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Calabasas 9, Burbank Burroughs 3--Rick Stockton had four hits, including two triples, and four RBIs for Calabasas (8-9) at Calabasas High.

Canyon Country Canyon 6-8, Studio City Sylmar 4-7--Adam Rondou went three for three with three RBIs in the second game and Justin Wayland earned saves in both games for Canyon (11-8).

In a District 16 game:

Oxnard 15, Newbury Park 1--Ryan Martinez had two hits, five RBIs and scored three runs for Oxnard (6-10) at Channel Islands High. Martinez had a two-run single in the second to give Oxnard a 2-0 lead and his three-run home run in the fifth made it 8-1.
