Agoura Outruns Camarillo B in an 18-7 and 17-9 Sweep

Adam Hersh drove in seven runs in the first game and finished with 10 RBIs in Agoura’s 18-7 and 17-9 victories over Camarillo B on Thursday in an American Legion District 16 doubleheader at Agoura High.

Hersh, a sophomore infielder, hit his first home run of the season in the second inning of the first game.

David Johnson and Michael Falco each finished with five hits for Agoura (15-11). Johnson had three hits and drove in three runs in the second game, and Falco had three hits and three RBIs in the first game.

Santa Susana 13, Newbury Park 7--Scott Vermette hit two home runs and Brandon Voorhees hit one for Santa Susana in a District 16 game at Royal High.

Brett Wayne had two hits and drove in four runs for Santa Susana (14-4).

Voorhees (3-1) pitched four shutout innings, allowing two hits, striking out five and walking none.

Conejo 3, Westlake Indians 1--Adam Leavitt grounded out to drive in Travis Rice with what proved to be the winning run with one out in the third inning and Billy Lockin had two hits for Conejo (16-8) in a District 16 victory at Westlake High.

Mike Alba had two hits for Westlake.

Ethan East hit a run-scoring single for Westlake.

Ventura 7, Moorpark 2--Mike Askay and Ryan Baker combined on a three-hitter for Ventura in a District 16 game at Moorpark High.

Baker hit two singles and scored two runs for Ventura (9-8).

Van Nuys Notre Dame 3, Burbank 0--Jason Hershfield pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks for Van Nuys Notre Dame in the first game of a District 20 doubleheader at Burbank.

Jon Horwitz hit two doubles and drove in a run for Van Nuys Notre Dame (19-3).

Woodland Hills El Camino Real 9, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 5--Kurt Birkins had 11 strikeouts and hit his fifth home run for Woodland Hills El Camino Real in a District 20 game at Franklin Field.

Brandon Kahan, Conor Jackson and Matt Schwartz hit home runs for Woodland Hills El Camino Real (20-2).

North Hollywood Poly 6, Granada Hills Kennedy 3--Carlos Ruguengo (8-1) pitched a two-hitter for North Hollywood Poly (17-6) in a District 20 game at Kennedy.

Ruguengo and Juan Flores each had two hits for North Hollywood Poly, which committed six errors.

Woodland Hills Taft 11, Van Nuys Birmingham 10--Jeff Spector and Mike Fonvergne each had two hits and two RBIs for Woodland Hills Taft (8-11-2) in a District 20 game at Birmingham High.

Jason Spector had two hits for Woodland Hills Taft.

Panorama City Monroe 6, Valley Chatsworth 3--Vince Madelon had three hits and scored two runs for Panorama City Monroe (11-12) in a District 20 game at Granada Hills.

Adam Kaplan (2-0) pitched a seven-hitter and added two hits for Panorama City Monroe.

Encino Crespi 8, Valencia 5--Jonathan Oller had two hits, including a two-run home run that put Encino Crespi (17-7) ahead for good in the sixth inning of a District 20 game at Valencia.

Marshall Plouffe (5-2) scattered nine hits and struck out eight for Encino Crespi.

Burbank Burroughs 8, Van Nuys Grant 1--Jesse Perez and Tony Sandoval each had two hits for Burbank Burroughs in a District 20 game at Grant High.

Sandoval (3-3) scattered seven hits for Burbank Burroughs (15-9).

Felipe Tetelboin and Mike Marble each had two hits for Van Nuys Grant (3-20).

West Hills Chaminade 10, Calabasas 6--Jeff Hynick hit a three-run homer for West Hills Chaminade in a six-run fifth inning in a District 20 game at Chaminade High.

Ryan Soroka hit a two-run home run to tie the game, 4-4, in the third inning for West Hills Chaminade (15-7).

Tri-Cities Highland 13, Quartz Hill Paraclete 3--Rob Cowan (7-0) pitched a six-hitter and had three hits for Tri-Cities Highland, which won its 10th District 20 game in a row, at Highland High.

Sunland Tujunga Verdugo Hills 13, Van Nuys 3--Shawn Boulding had three hits and two RBIs for Sunland Tujunga Verdugo Hills (5-17) in a District 20 game at Sunland Tujunga Senior Little League Field.
