In another District 20 playoff game:

Valley Chatsworth 12, Tri-Cities Highland 7--Ismael Marin (3-1), who relieved after Ryan Robbins allowed seven consecutive hits to open the game, gave up two earned runs and six hits in nine innings for Valley Chatsworth in a losers’ bracket game at Valley College.

Marin struck out nine and walked two.

Matt Fisher had three hits, including a grand slam, and seven RBIs to help Valley Chatsworth (22-6) overcome a 5-0 lead.

Drew Kennedy had two hits and two RBIs and John Santor doubled twice and drove in one run for Tri-Cities Highland (19-9), which was ousted from the double-elimination tournament.

David Lopez, of Central Valley Cleveland received 19 stitches over his left eye Wednesday after being hit by a pitch in the first inning of a 7-6 loss to Van Nuys Notre Dame.

Lopez was taken to a hospital by ambulance but returned to watch the end of the game.

In District 16 games:

Santa Susana 8, Camarillo A 2--Brandon Voorhees had three hits, including a run-scoring triple in the first inning, and helped Santa Susana turn a triple play at Royal High.

Mike Byer (5-0) pitched a six-hitter and had two hits and two RBIs for Santa Susana (18-4-1). Byer allowed one earned run, struck out one and walked three.

Tony Ortega hit a solo home run and a run-scoring single.

Santa Susana turned a triple play in the first. With runners on first and second base, Jay Caligiuri grounded to shortstop Brett Wayne, who threw to second baseman Mike Bonderson to force Shane Miranda.

Bonderson doubled up Caligiuri at first, and first baseman Voorhees threw to catcher Andy Gerber to get Joe Yingling trying to score.

Caligiuri and Miranda each had two hits for Camarillo A (16-4-1).

Conejo Knights 10, Westlake 6--Billy Lockin had three hits and scored four runs for Conejo at Thousand Oaks High.

Adam Leavitt and Travis Rice each had three hits for the Knights (19-8).

Leavitt had two RBIs and scored three runs and Rice had one RBI and a stolen base.

John Smith of Conejo hit a two-run home run in the top of the fourth to tie the score, 6-6.
