In another women’s playoff game:

Fullerton 77, Pasadena 71--Paola Flores scored a team-high 25 as Fullerton advanced to the state tournament with first-year Coach Debie Woelke. Pasadena, whose 13-game winning streak ended, was down by one with a little more than two minutes left but Flores scored on consecutive possessions to give Fullerton a five-point lead.

In a men’s basketball playoff game:

Bakersfield 65, Santa Ana 61--Chris Mattice and Jimmy Alapag each scored 17 and Lohnnie Tape had 16 for visiting Santa Ana. It was the final game for Santa Ana Coach Dana Pagett, who is stepping down after 15 years.

In Orange Empire Conference baseball:

Santa Ana 9, Fullerton 8--Dan Young scored on Ryan Blackmun’s single in the ninth inning to win it for host Santa Ana.
