Lombardo Conducts St. Bonaventure Victory With 5 Touchdown Passes

Chris Lombardo passed for 269 yards and five touchdowns to lead St. Bonaventure High past Fillmore, 55-14, Saturday in a Tri-Valley League game at Ventura High.

Lombardo completed 14 of 18 passes and connected on touchdown pass plays of seven, 14 and 50 yards to Matt Leeth, who made seven receptions for 158 yards. Lombardo had scoring passes of 31 yards to Gordo Pinedo and 22 yards to Bebop Lopez.

Jesse Kirk rushed eight times for 82 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown run for St. Bonaventure (5-3, 3-0 in league play). Josh Ford scored on a 25-yard fumble return and a 50-yard interception return.

Fillmore (2-6, 0-2) was limited to 197 yards. Kyle McDowell had a 20-yard touchdown run and Ted Chewning scored on a seven-yard run.

Harvard-Westlake 38, Bishop Montgomery 14--George Witter rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns in 26 carries for the Wolverines in a San Fernando League opener at Harvard-Westlake.

Among Witter’s runs was a 40-yard dash that set up Robert Van Norden’s three-yard touchdown run, giving the Wolverines (7-1) a 31-0 lead early in the third quarter.

Matt Felder completed six of 12 passes for 92 yards for Harvard-Westlake. Alex Clarke had two receptions for 44 yards.

Harvard-Westlake amassed 381 yards, 289 on the ground, and held Bishop Montgomery (0-8) to 214 yards.
